Gundam Series I: NGD-09 Gundam 'Prototype E' Windstrike
Mobile suit mode:
Mobile Armour mode:
So I'm still trying to practice drawing / designing gundams and this one is an air combat mobile suit which I've coloured in more 'traditional' gundam colours. I've taken inspiration from the likes of Wing and will soon add weapons- its primary being a large excalibre type sword, plus of course its mobile armour mode.
Update: Not too happy with the mobile armour mode, may redraw it. Also 'windstrike' is the best name I can come up with for now. A little cheesy but sounds 'military-code-ish' enough so may stick.

Gundam Series I: NGD-02 Gundam Vanguard
So this is the second design in my Gundam series. I still feel like I'm making some really silly mistakes here and there but anyway onto the gundam itself....
I basically had an idea of one which had something like the mercurius planet defenser technology (the black discs on its shoulders and legs) which would make it an ultra defensive gundam. For offence it can either have a standard beam gun or two beam sabres mounted on either arm which drop out when needed.

Gundam Yea!
So I've finally decided to actually try and draw a gundam properly instead of messing around with proportions all these years (I have no idea why......I'm terrible I know). This is as close as I've come to getting the proportions right....it's still not there yet but I'm slowly and surely getting there! Took inspiration from the master Hajime Katoki- who I reckon is my favourite gundam designer. A little late now but can't wait to ink and colour!

The (Almost) Faceless Guard
So I've been thinking about my graduate film, (I have a bad habit of wanting to go back to older work) and wanted to imagine how I could do it again without any restrictions. One of the things that I had wanted to include but couldn't were these 'faceless' guards that would chase my main protagonist through the city. (Tutor always said it need more action!) So here's a quick-ish 2 hour concept of what they could look like. And yes....with a healthy dab of glowing tron lines :D

Mech Series III
Final version. Never know what to put on as a background...... There are still some consistency issues throughout the drawing, guess I just need to keep practicing and practicing!

Sketch I
Well it's been a while...... Here's another mech sketch I'm working on. Currently trying to decide whether pencil or ink looks better..... Will post 'final' design soon.

Taking Flight
Was playing Infamous 2 the other day and in one mission I noticed a beautifully surreal sunset. This is something I had in mind when I started this speedpaint, other than that I pretty much started off blind. Yes, I went overboard with the cloud brushes and the jets were an afterthought and a half, but this was more of a colour test than anything.

Robot Series II
I've been looking at Doug Chiang's stuff and I like the way he draws his mecha, soo here's my effort in a similar style.
Alien creature I (revised)
Been having some trouble with the leg anatomy for this one- probably should have thought it through a bit more. A mix of tortoise/ elephant/ typical mammal leg anatomy was probably a bit too far and I've ended up making esp. the back leg more 'meatier' than originally intended.

Sketchbook Stuff
A couple of steampunk machines. I enjoy giving futuristic-esque technology an older, more 'built in a shed' than 'clinical factory manufacture' feel to them.
Robot Series II (rough)
What started out as a doodle of a robotic arm turned into a full sketch. Will be working on this one.

Alien creature I
So, finally decided to do a digital creature painting. (Better late than never I suppose) This was based off a cool photo I saw of peculiarly shaped trees that formed a really nice beastly shape. Still bits I need to do to it, and as its a case of a bit of surreal anatomy going on been having some fun with it.

Robot Series I
A few old sketches I found going through my stuff. Always nice to go back to good old pen liner and markers to indulge my guilty pleasure.
